Overview of the College of Education Warri

The College of Education Warri’s inception dates back to 1979. When the then Government of Bendel State (Mid-Western Nigeria) Saw the need to establish the institution due to the burning need for qualified teachers in the state. As a result, there was an intervention by the then Government of the Western Region of Nigeria and they established many secondary schools.

This led to the need to have reasonable and qualified teachers to educate the students at the secondary level. Hence, this urgent need brought about the establishment of the College of Education Warri in 1979. Following this, the College started on October 2nd, 1979 as the Advanced Teacher College at Ihogbe, Benin City. The school’s first temporary site was at the Institute of Continuing Education in Benin City.

COEWarri was officially opened by the Governor of the State (Late Professor Ambrose Alli) on 5th May 1980. That was the day the college was renamed College of Education, Ihogbe in Benin City. On 9th February 1981, the College moved to its temporary site in Warri from the direction of the Governor.

On 16th September 1996, the college finally settled on its permanent site along Airport Road, Warri. Over the years, the school has produced many reliable graduates who have contributed to the growth of education in Nigeria. Likewise, the College offers several degrees in Education (NCE) and runs various program schedules (regular, weekend, and evening). Also all courses offered in the school are fully accredited by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE). The motto of the College of Education Warri is “Knowledge for Progress”. There are currently 6 schools of education in the school.

Administration Body (Provost) of the College of Education Warri

Admission Processing Guide to COEWARRI

Students can go to the following banks to make payments. WEMA, Diamond, First Bank, GTB, or UBA bank to pay an application fee of 2,000 Naira only. When at the bank, just tell the teller that you want to pay for the College of Education Warri application fee. They will charge you a service fee of #350. Summing up to 2,350 Naira as the application fee.

  4. Payment Review

Tuition Fee

The school fees schedule of the College of Education Warri is on the affordable side.   • For those using the Interswitch payment gateway, if the payment was unsuccessful, click on “Requery College Pay”. And restart the payment procedure. Ensure you put in all the required details correctly.
  • After you’ve successfully made the payment, you can then proceed to register for your courses.
  • Download your course registration form from the portal and carefully fill and sign the form.
  • Then proceed with it to your departmental head for submission

Cost of Living

Generally, studying and living in the College of Education Warri is not expensive. The cost of living in Warri is relatively low. So, students in the school are at an advantage. Everything in the school’s vicinity is affordable, including the cost of transportation. Whether you are living On-campus or off, you will not experience much financial stress, though, this considers the person’s convenience or choice. As of now, we have not gotten the price paid for the hostel accommodation in the school but will do well to update it when we stumble on it.
