Brief History Of The American University Of Nigeria (AUN)

First and Foremost, the American University of Nigeria (AUN), was founded by former Vice-president of  Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubaka. Originally, history reports that the institution was called ABTI University of Nigeria. Before the inception of the institution in 2004, there was no trace or record of any higher institutions (be it Private or Government) that operated on American Standards and patterns of Higher education programs. Hence, this made the institution the first American-pattern institution of learning in sub-Saharan regions.

It is worth noting that AUN has Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and professional Levels of education and has full accreditation from the National University Commission. Academic activities kicked off in 2015 following the enrollment of her (AUN) first set of students.

Apart from being a member of the National University Commission (NUC), the American University of Nigeria forms a membership affiliation with the Association of American International Colleges and Institutions.
