  3. Opt-In for CGS-M Application (Master’s Applicants)


    -If you are a Master’s level applicant who has applied for the Tri-Agency CGS-M competition, you have the option to opt-in and use your CGS-M application within the Harmonized Scholarship Process.
    -Select “Master’s Level – CGS-M Opt-In” as the submission category and follow the application process. The Faculty of Graduate Studies will link your CGS-M application to your opt-in form, including reference letters and transcripts submitted for the CGS-M competition.
    -The deadline to opt-in is December 1st, which coincides with the CGS-M application deadline set by the Tri-Agency. If you do not opt-in with your CGS-M application, you must complete a full Harmonized Scholarship Application to be considered for other awards.

  4. Complete the Self-Identification Questionnaire


    -All applicants are encouraged to complete the self-identification questionnaire found in the Online Scholarship Platform. This helps ensure that applicants are sorted into the review process for award opportunities with specific eligibility criteria.
    -Information provided in this questionnaire is not visible to reviewers and will remain strictly confidential.

  5. Navigate Through the Application

    -Progress through the application by clicking “Next” at the bottom of each page. You can also click “Save” to save your progress and return to the application later for edits or updates.

  6. Upload Official Transcripts


    -Obtain official transcripts from your educational institutions.
    -Upload your official transcripts directly in the scholarship portal following the provided instructions. Note that Dalhousie University will not provide copies of transcripts from admission applications.
    -If you have transcripts from multiple institutions, combine them into a single PDF before uploading. Unofficial grade reports may be used for current Dalhousie students in place of official transcripts.

  7. Submit Reference Letters


    -All reference letters must be submitted in the portal by the January 16, 2025 deadline (or February 15 for non-thesis applicants).
    -The portal will close to applicants and referees after this date, and incomplete applications will not be forwarded for review.
    -Reference letters will not be accepted by email or in hard copy. It is advisable to inform your referees of the deadline in advance to ensure timely submissions.
    -Applicants will receive email notifications from the portal, and a “received” notation will appear by each referee’s name once their reference has been completed.

  8. Agree to Terms and Conditions


    -Review and agree to the terms and conditions of the scholarship application.
    -Click “Save and Finalize” to complete and submit your application.

  9. Application Withdrawal (if needed)


    -You may withdraw your application to make changes until the January 15 deadline. This includes updating your transcripts with fall grades or making edits based on feedback from your department.
    -If you withdraw your application, it must be resubmitted by the January 15th deadline to be considered.

  10. Submit the Application 


    After reviewing your desired scholarship application requirements, the next step is to fill out the scholarship application forms. 

    Ensure to provide accurate and up-to-date information through Dal Online. Login to Dal Online, select the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” menu option, then select “Apply for Financial Aid.” Decisions will be sent to your Dalhousie email address approximately three weeks after the deadline.
